Book Spec Inc. is a specification consulting firm. We prepare architectural specifications for construction projects and prepare master specifications. We have worked on very large to extremely small projects. Book Spec Inc.'s key personnel include Colleen Barabonoff and Ann Rocha. 

Meet Our Team of Professionals

Colleen Barabonoff


Colleen Barabonoff, RSW is an independent architectural specifications consultant with over 15 years of experience writing project and master specifications, with a total of 20 years in the architectural field. Colleen started her career as an architectural technologist at a small architectural firm where she worked for 5 years on every phase of projects including design, working drawings, contract administration and building studies. Colleen has spent the last 15 years writing project and master specifications. This combined with her specification writing experience contribute to a greater understanding of building science including building envelope detailing, material selection, material sustainability and material compatibility. Colleen has diverse experience in all building types including: industrial, healthcare, institutional, commercial, retail and "one of" specialty projects; varying in size from one room renovations to multi-building campuses. 

Colleen is an active member of CSC, and sits on the national RSW Subcommittee. Colleen is a LEED Accredited Professional through the Canadian Green Building Council, and a Certified Technologist through the Alberta Society of Engineers Technologist. 

Colleen’s ability to look objectively at drawings allows her to fully review documents for accuracy and buildability. Her passion for practical and cost effective solutions drive her to produce comprehensive specifications that ensure quality and dependability.

Ann Rocha

Specifications Writer

Ann Rocha joined Book Spec Inc. in June of 2012. She is currently an Intermediate specification writer, and has completed her CSC courses; PCD and Specifier 1. Ann is a current member with CSC and hopes to achieve her RSW designation this year. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Criminal Justice where she has acquired the valuable skill of research and has a thirst for knowledge.
